Project Description – A Wordpress Blog rebuild using Genesis Framework

Brighton School of Business and Management (Brighton SBM) needed their WordPress blog rebuilding in order to take advantage of the latest SEO tags and latest responsive design must haves. So the Genesis Framework was used to kill two birds with one stone, as it were!

So a Dev server was setup to preserve the present live site and this allowed me the freedom to develop the new blog without disrupting the live one ( A copy of the WordPress database of posts and content was copied over and quickly the rebuild took shape. Genesis was so easy to work with allowing me to easily test new layout procedures. Its built in responsive framework saved me allot of time and only required small amendments to have the layout fit in with the design.

The build required an exact replication of the rest of the site which was not using WordPress. Meticulous attention to details was required by Julia Dunlop the Webmaster in order to make the blog fit neatly in with the rest of the site. Header section layout and navigation styling was duplicated. Blog post SEO tags were properly in place.

The site build required flexibility to accommodate Julia’s ideas and it was these ideas a difference approach that made the build interesting and at times challenging; which in itself is a pleasure.
